Domiciliary care

What is home or domiciliary care?

Domiciliary care, also referred to as home care, is a range of services provided in your own home that assists with remaining independent.

Who can benefit?

The service meets the main care needs of adults aged 18 or over living in Tower Hamlets who may have difficulties related to ageing, chronic disease, disability or mental health problems.

Provision of the service is dependent on meeting eligibility criteria, which will be determined through a community care assessment.

Dependent on the assessment of your needs, domiciliary care can assist with:

  • Personal care tasks such as washing and dressing
  • Daily living tasks such as getting up
  • Preparing drinks or light snacks
  • Shopping
  • Domestic support to maintain safe and hygienic standards
