Children's complaints

Children who are being looked after by Tower Hamlets have the same rights as anybody else. That means children have the right to complain about any aspect of the services they are receiving.

Children in residential homes, or living with foster carers, relatives and friends, living in their own homes, or in after care, may have problems with how they are being treated, or decisions made about them.

Children can get help and be listened to. The advice and complaints procedure exists to help children too.

If talking to a social worker or a teacher or a member of staff (if you are in a residential home) doesn't sort things out, then the child can contact the Tower Hamlets complaints office.

If you call freephone 0800 374 176, a complaints officer will listen to your complaint and advise you what to do next. All information will be treated in confidence.

You can also write about your complaint to:
