Approved premises for getting married & partnership ceremonies

Listed below are places in the borough that have been approved for civil marriage services. They may also be used for civil partnership ceremonies. For marriages, these venues are in addition to the borough register office.

We are unable to endorse any particular venue and advise those interested to contact the individual venue management for further details – such as the cost.

In addition to venue charges, there are fees payable for the attendance of registration officers conducting a ceremony. These are:

Civil marriage ceremonies at approved premises:

• Monday to Friday - £298.50
• Saturday - £328.50
• Sunday and Bank Holidays - £398.50 

All ceremony fees are inclusive of one Marriage Certificate and folder.
Commemorative Marriage certificates are also available.

Civil partnerships ceremonies at approved premises:

• Monday to Friday - £308.50
• Saturday - £338.50
• Sunday and Bank Holidays - £408.50

All ceremony fees are inclusive of one full Civil Partnership Certificate and one commemorative certificate and folder.

These fees need to be paid as soon as possible to ensure that a registration officer will be available on the day of your marriage.

Notice of ceremony must also be given to the Superintendent Registrar of the district where each person resides – for which there is a statutory fee of £30 each. Fifteen clear days' notice is required.

Based at Tower Hamlets Register Office, the Vestry is elegantly decorated and accommodates up to 150 guests. Couples have the choice of personalised ceremonies. There is also a bridal room facility with traditional separate entrance available.
