Tower Hamlets Council recognises the unique position of local voluntary and community groups in supporting residents as well as providing services for them. Tower Hamlets Council is moving to a ‘commissioning approach’ for the existing Mainstream Grant programme and will continue to support quality services that are accessible and available to those who most need them.

Apply for new money

Small community groups and organisations with an income of less than £20,000 a year can now apply for up to £5,000 from Grassroots Grants.

St Katharine & Shadwell Trust, the community foundation for the East End and City, is administering this new grants programme and has over £125,000 to distribute in Tower Hamlets before the end of March 2009.
