Getting women into public life
Women make up 51% of the overall population in Britain and 49% of the population in Tower Hamlets. But women only hold 35% of national public appointments. Out of 646 of our political representatives in the House of Commons, only 121 are female.
Some of the skills you use in your daily life are the same skills required to:
- Be a local councillor
- Be a court magistrate
- Become a school governor
- Be a health representative
- Work as a special constable
