Parks walks

People are being encouraged to go out for a breath of fresh air in Tower Hamlets with a new series of walking tours in the borough. Green spaces, parks, playgrounds and areas of historical interest will be revealed along eight lesser-known routes.

The council’s Communities, Localities & Culture directorate has worked with Tower Hamlets Partnership - the local alliance of residents, the council, police, the health service, public services, voluntary, community and faith groups and businesses – to map out a pleasant and accessible walk route for each local area.

Every week a different walk will be featured here, as well as in the local newspaper East End Life, giving details, maps and points of interest. As well as being able to keep this information for future use, an organised walk in each area is being led by an experienced walk leader for those who enjoy strolling in the company of others.

The walks take people through the borough, meandering through parks, past a wealth of points of interest while taking in some spectacular scenery along the way.
