Local recycling centres

There are more than 50 recycling centres located in the borough.

All the sites accept the following materials:

• All types of paper
• Cardboard and card packaging (please flatten boxes)
• Glass bottles and jars (please rinse and remove lids)
• Food and drinks cans (please rinse)
• Plastic bottles (please rinse and remove lids. No other types of plastic please, only bottles)

There is no need to separate the materials out, they can all go in to the same bin mixed. The ‘co-mingled’ recycling is then taken to a facility where it is sorted and separated.

A number of sites also have bins for textiles and shoes, please check on the map before visiting.

Please be responsible and thoughtful to the nearby residents and only use the centres between the hours of 8am and 8pm.

Along with local recycling centres, Tower Hamlets has a Reuse and Recycling Centre where you can take a number of household items and garden waste.

This centre is located at Northumberland Wharf, Yabsley Street off Preston’s Road, London, E14 9RG. and is open 7 days a week.
