Good neighbours
As your council, we will not tolerate people who cause and engage in any form of nuisance, crime or anti-social behaviour whether it affects you or your visitors or visitors to the borough.
We take these acts very seriously and have experience and understand that it is a sensitive and emotive issue. The government has introduced a range of measures to enable stronger action to be taken against people responsible for causing anti-social behaviour and we will not hesitate to use those powers.
We want to help you live in safety, free from discrimination and harassment, and in a pleasant environment.
If you are having problems with your neighbours, contact a one stop shop - they will refer your complaint to the appropriate service to resolve the situation. Or if you are a council tenant or leaseholder, you can contact your local housing office.
The mediation service helps if you have a problem with neighbours which you can't sort out - whether it's about pets, kids, rubbish, noise, parking, boundaries or shared facilities.
Mediators are volunteers who live or work in the area. They will visit you and your neighbours and help you resolve your difficulties. The service is independent and free. You can contact the mediation service at:
